Inspired by Southern California’s historic botanical gardens, El Centro’s garden installations in the Paseo, poolside, and residential courtyards include a remarkable collection of specimen plants from around the globe—like Mexico, Italy, Hawaii and Indonesia.
The sparkling saltwater pool is framed by tropical gardens and bleacher seating for sun worshippers. Smaller groups get together at the hot tub, fire pit, barbeque grill, and the 90-inch television for immersive event viewing.
The Sunroom is El Centro’s clubhouse. It multiplies the private living space of your apartment with communal indoor/outdoor space for entertaining. The space comes equipped with a chef’s kitchen for residents’ use (also suitable for catering), and a fireplace—because even Hollywood gets chilly in February.
Residents of these new Hollywood apartments can slow down (or speed up) at the state-of-the-art gym and sauna, equipped with a sunny yoga studio and large lockers. The Lobby is where people cross paths on the way to and from the Paseo, the private parking decks, bike storage, and rideshare pick-up. Designed with elements of the boutique hotel and the urban oasis in mind, the Lobby is equally adaptable for informal meetings or just hanging out.
For the desert, tropical and subtropical gardens, Cactus Store brought a wide diversity of plant life to El Centro, and a sense of privacy to the courtyards. In addition to the 20 different species of cycads, there are dancing fire pits to experience, enhancing evening conversations.
“At most places, landscaping is an afterthought, generic greenery in the background. We put the gardens in the foreground, treating them like an amenity.” —
